Things I haveThings I have
- A nostr account with an nsec and npub pair
- Stacker news account (this one, linked to my npub obviously)
- Amber Android app (which has my nsec)

I am running the nos2x signer on my Chrome browser, which signs events on my behalf, and facilitates login to nostr clients.
QuestionQuestion
How to use the same nsec (already loaded in my Amber android) to log in to stacker news on Android? I go to the stacker news website, try nostr log in, but the page cannot find any extension. Is there a secure method to accomplish this without revealing my nsec to stacker news?
I've tested all kind of logins for SN. What I recommend for mobile is to use a dedicated LN wallet (no need to have funds in it). SN + Amber most of the time fail to login. idk why, maybe because of relays banning too many requests.
General recommendations:
I don't quite remember how, but I have nos2x installed in my Firefox fork, IronFox, on Android and it has worked like a charm to log in and stay signed into Stacker News.
Amber, or any signer that supports nsecBunker.
Yes, I have amber set up with the keys. But how to make sure the stacker news website gets the signature from Amber? For first time sign up as well as subsequent events?
Or, is there a stacker news app?
You've got to get a nsecBunker string from Amber, and then paste it into Stacker News when logging in manually with your Nostr identity; you used to be able to use Amber directly, but it was removed at some point shortly after its introduction.
As for an app, it does exist... but the official one is just an Electron-wrapped web app.
I think I'd shoot my left nut before advancing the idea of an Electron SN! It's a Progressive Web App, basically the site without browser controls.
Let's see if I'll lose my left nut in a year lol
@remindme in 1 year
lol
I was tired somewhat when typing that, so I'm likely wrong about the Electron part. A wrapped web app, it definitely is though.
