It's a busy day for me today, so I'm going to keep this one short and let the photos do most of the talking. This week, we head to Jug Island Beach Trail located near Belcarra, BC. This trail shares the same parking lot as the Admiralty Point Trail #552364 parking lot. The Jug Island Beach Trail itself is an easy 5.5km round trip with approximately 220m elevation gain. The trail is easy and suitable to people of all ages. We've been on this trail multiple times, but the photos shared below were from the time we went in November, 2021. It was raining when we hiked the trail. Also, because it was autumn at the time, there were a lot of fungi / mushrooms growing. We reached the end of the trail without much problems and headed back to the parking lot. We were drenched by the time we reached our cars, but it was still fun hiking in the rain with my family.
We got to the parking lot. The weather was not particularly nice.
Little one decided to try to walk the trail himself.
Mushroom growth.
These have very bright colours.
New growth on dead tree stump.
Some stairs to make the trail easier to walk.
More mushrooms.
Even more mushrooms.
Many different types.
A pond to the side of the trail.
Mushrooms.
Rain water coming down from the rock cliff.
Stone steps and wooden steps.
We've reached the end of the trail / viewpoint / beach. The little island in the middle is Jug Island.
My older son check out the people in their boats.
Trying to hide from the rain under some branches.
Two dogs having fun even in the rain.
This one has sharp colour. I wonder if it's poisonous?
We saw a long rainbow on our drive home.

Jug Island is a cool name. I like that staircase.
Maybe the person who named it thinks the island looks like a jug, hence the name.
Awesome views! It's rainy season here, and I wanna go to some hiking in the Himalayas but man, here beauty is mixed with too much risk in these times.
Here's one morning view for you
view on youtu.beThanks for sharing. Very cool!
hiking in the rain! i'm sure your children will thank you for this later, if they haven't already.
They definitely haven't yet thank us for making them hike in the rain numerous times. But at the same time, they didn't have a choice, haha.

Thanks!
Do you like muschrooms?
Even with the rain the family vibes shine through. Those mushrooms feel like natures surprise artwork along the trail. Thanks for sharing the adventure 🌧🍄👣
