There have been rumours that the Padres, who currently hold the final wildcard spot in the NL, are willing to move on from former Cy Young award winner and pending free agent Starting Pitcher, Dylan Cease.
It seems unlikely unless that get the perfect package of future talent plus a quality arm that can slot into the rotation right away, but supposedly they have had talks with a number of teams including all the contending teams in the AL East.
Do you think Dylan Cease will be traded before the July 31st deadline?

I don’t see any of the available starters being game changers at this deadline, including Cease. The cost would certainly be too high.
reply
Definitely not this version of Cease. I would rather have Keller or Ryan if they are available. If you are going to pay up might as well get a guy with some term left on his deal.

Agreed. I can’t remember a year where none of the starters turned my crank.
Damn the survivor pool: I need the Guardians to sell me a Cade Smith.

Rockies won so @Undisciplined’s Orioles bet didn’t pay off. Down to 4.

Who among hasn’t been disappointed by the Orioles this year?
reply
I am disappointed in the Rockies.
The Rockies are dead to me

They really let you down. They don’t even know how to tank.
Fun fact about the word 'Padres':
In Portuguese it means 'priests'. In Spanish it means 'parents'.
So, which one’s gonna be the team name?
reply
In Spanish, it depends on the context of the sentence:
The father(priest) of the church
[El padre de la iglesia] -> religious context
My friend's father
[El padre de mi amigo] -> family context
reply
I always took it to mean priests.
reply
Did some digging, turns out in Spanish it can mean ‘priests’ too, just depends on the context.
