Generally I would agree that if they signed a contract, they should keep their word and play under it. However, contracts can be re-negotiated all the time. I don't understand this whole model of it not being a free market where guys can go wherever they want, whenever they want. The owners are in control. So I don't feel bad for the Bengals at all since they aren't offering enough money to keep this guy happy. He's really good and could easily get paid more elsewhere. He wants to stay, so keep him happy, or be OK losing him.
The penalty for not playing or reporting is part of the contract, so he’s really not violating the terms. He’s opting for that provision.

True! I think the prevailing sentiment still applies though

Do you think they will trade him?

Depends how stubborn the owner will be. I think he now has 2 edge rushers that are not participating due to contract disputes.
I thought in the past, Burrow was leaning hard on management to keep Hendrickson happy. I'd think they'd give in to help keep Burrow happy, too.

I have never seen a team that seems to care so little about defense. Haha
