Back on track today

  • One meal
  • Cold shower
  • Still not enough activity though

It’s been oppressively hot for the past few days and it’s making hard to get outside much.

How are you all faring in the summer heat?

Family day out. We went go karting, mini golfing and the batting cages. Got a ton of steps, sun and I took 80 swings in the batting cage. Sadly I was humbled when I hit off the fastest speed which was just 65mph.

It's ok, we all know pitchers can't hit.

It's been hot here too. It's pretty taxing to do manual labor work under the heat. Luckily, I work indoors, so at least I'm not directly under the sun all day. And thankfully there is AC at home to escape the heat once I get off work. Also, it cools down quite a bit after the sun sets, so I've been going on my runs later at night, usually between 9pm-10pm.

Today's stats:

  • 50 push ups
  • 12km run at 5:32/km average pace
  • cold shower
  • 22227 steps

It looks like we're getting some rain finally. Hopefully that will cool it down a little.

Nice. Some rain in the summer is great. It's all sunshine in the forecast for us.

It’s still super hot. We might just cycle through downpours and extremely humid heat.

Apologies for missing the start of this, where you probably explained it, but what’s with the cold shower?

reply

It's something a couple of other stackers were mentioning doing and I was saying that it seemed horrible, but they convinced me of the benefits.

The benefit that got me to try it is that it lowers your resting heart rate.

Respect for staying on track despite the crazy heat! One meal and a cold shower sounds like a solid survival combo right now haha. Same here—it’s been tough to stay active when it feels like the sun’s sitting on your face. Just gotta hydrate, rest, then move when you can. Stay cool out there!

California weather can’t complain!
