I'm quick to remind people that most world class coaches weren't world class players. World class players, more often than not, had world class talent and no need or interest in developing communicable world class tools, systems, processes to get better; either because they were just that talented, understood it all intuitively, or attracted the help of others to provide those things.
That's all to say we are capable of dishing out great advice that we don't follow or can't apply to ourselves for whatever reason.
Do you have great advice that you yourself don't follow? What is it?

Without a doubt, exercise more.
I recommend it to anyone who I know, however, it is not something that I dominate or did with the necessary regularity. I feel that by continuing to pass the voice to others, it helped me to program the message to be able to dominate what the Council refers to. (Constant exercise routines)

Sometimes, it's ok to put yourself first. It's like they tell you on an airplane, in the event of an emergency, put your own mask on first because you can't help anyone if you aren't conscious.
I continue to put others before me even though I know it's not healthy, and it's creating some rather large problems. I guess sometimes we just are who we are.

For me it is not looking at screens, phones, tvs before bed - and I do it every single night...

Mine is 'work more intensely, not longer.'
I told this one to @ek most recently when he was lamenting his slowness and expressed that he'd fix it by working more.
I'd follow it myself if my duties weren't so varied. I have to task switch so much, and I really suck at task switching, that I have to work more to get more done.

Oh man...that would have to be the digital detox/distraction thing. Using devices too much.
I do follow a LOT of the advice that I give (often do a digital detox on Sundays, use social media very little, have youtube blocked on my main laptop, etc, etc).
But I still end up spending too much time online. It's "better" time, like research, projects. But it's also too much.
My carnivore advice, though - THAT I actually follow, almost 100%.

You know, this made me think of WHY this is - why am I good at following food restrictions, but not so great on digital restrictions.
Here's what I think it is.
With food (with the carnivore diet, anyway), it's VERY clear cut. Animal origin? Good. Not animal origin? Bad.
With use of screens/devices, it's nowhere near that clear cut. If I were to cut out my laptop and phone entirely, I couldn't function, couldn't work, couldn't do fun and interesting projects.
It's such a fuzzy line. For instance, take Youtube.
Youtube is critical for a lot of things. But then, it's so easy to go from "must watch youtube for an important project, or to learn how to do x,y,z", to "zzz...got nothing else I must do, so I will anesthetize myself with youtube for hours".

People come asking me for medical advice because my suggestions for Ayurvedic Medicine and Yoga work for most of them. I'm not a certified medical practitioner and I don't do yoga. What I prescribe is based on my experiences of treating others, mostly my family, with them.

I worked at an Ayurvedic Spa when I was young. I was open to the ideas at first but I kept seeing the same middle-aged women, month after month, and they seemed to be worse-off emotionally each time.
An aside: they were also the horniest chicks I’ve ever met. Must be the ghee?

I'm not sure whether the western countries/people even get it about Ayurveda.
Only people who can restrain, understand their body type and be patient can be cured by Ayurveda, because Ayurveda is at the core is a therapy and taking herbal pills or syrups alone won't be of any use.

Do all Ayurvedic spa do such activities where you live?
In India Ayurveda is attached to religion and culture and in normal cases the advice is free of cost. Because people generally know and believe in the power of Yoga here, it works for most of them in most of cases.

Sugar is poison you shouldn't eat it. And then I proceed to munch on cookies, chocolate, ice cream etc when I am bored at night.

I was just about to type the same thing and scrolled down to see this comment. I do exactly the same thing. Except, I also intake sugar from drinks as well as snacks. I guess we are all helplessly addicted to sugar.

I have done a pretty good job eliminating sugary drinks. Once and awhile I will have a coke but for the most part don't really drink soda or sugary juices.

Good for you. I need to work on that. I just like flavored cold drinks too much. And replacing the sugary drinks with beer don't seem to be better.

Me too. I've been telling myself for three months that I need to stop eating sweets, but I still haven't managed to do it

I started the year off really well. Pretty much didn't eat any sweets in January and then I was doing pretty good for a couple month only having some ice cream maybe once a week but lately have gotten into a bad habit again of almost every night.

I have a bit of a talent for painting (at least that's what people who know about art have told me after seeing a few things I've painted), and I keep telling myself that I should take it seriously and work on it every day—but I just don't follow my own advice...
