Haha, I imagine folks in DC do all the time though.
You kinda have to, few people have the time to do primary research, and academics don't often focus on practical questions (or can't produce results fast enough)

It's one of those things where you really have to dig in to the methodology and data availability, but no one has the time so they just have to either trust or not trust the consulting report haha
