It's one of those things where you really have to dig in to the methodology and data availability, but no one has the time so they just have to either trust or not trust the consulting report haha

Haha, I imagine folks in DC do all the time though.

You kinda have to, few people have the time to do primary research, and academics don't often focus on practical questions (or can't produce results fast enough)

Sure some people might but they have to be taken with a HUGE grain of salt because well they are trying to sell a product and a service or solution at the end of they day.
