I have almost 3 million points with AA that I'm not using. Buying flights with points is going to hurt them more. Not buying flights with points may screw me in the ponzinomics. Choices, choices.

Neither did I. I just fly a lot and they kind of charge everyone extra, including me, to be able to give points which then you need to remember to actually use...

Yeah thus I gave up. I remember thinking how cool it would have been if I made it to their platinum elite tier but the amount of air miles and EQs just always confused me.
Plus it was more like gamification. I was thinking how I can take extra flights just to hit the next tier

It's not as cool as it sounds. Most people just use that as guaranteed upgrade so they always buy coach.
