I wont lie I thought Musk would launch the party but wouldn't be out seeking a fight like he currently is. Now what is interesting about him doing this is I am not sure what votes he is exactly going to court... People on the Left hate him and MAGA people are really getting sick and tired of it.... I guess he could try to target moderates that maybe lean right but he is absolutely killing Tesla and quite possibly SpaceX with his actions.

I think the idea of a third party is great but getting it off the ground and being able to court voters from both sides is a tough ask. I think it would probably take a new political party a couple decades to gain significant traction. Even if the new party is extremely well funded and has twitter as a medium to spread its message it is unlikely it will do much other than siphon votes away from republicans. Which is too bad because people should have a viable third option but it is what it is.

I think he has a solid shot of taking votes from both parties. Plus he owns X he can control the narrative and spy on DMs and pay influencers to hype his message.
The PACs and SuperPacs can’t compete with his war chest of wealth. And god knows how many space x shares he owns.
I think Elon doing this is a showcase of new money vs old establishment. The uniparty is deeply entrenched and Trump still placates them (especially the NeoCons)

I wish him well. I hope the new party attracts a lot of people from both sides.

I'm surprised he didn't link up with the No Labels party. They seemed to have a pretty solid plan focusing on local races before trying to launch into Congressional or State wide races
