Why does US need to be the patron of these global organisations? I don't support it and I think Canada shouldn't either.

US is the largest net importer of goods in the world and issues the currency most global trade is settled in. So you could possibly have a WTO without them but it would just make an already questionably useful organization even more pointless.

Yes, that's true and I already made a questioning remark about WTO's existence without US. However like many others I hope US should not bully other nations and this should stop.
As US currency is the most global, I believe US is always in profits with or without tarrifs. All this tarrif-tarrif is a mere drama and Trump's been manipulating the market to fill his/his family's pockets because he knows that he won't get a better and another chance to do it.
