Today was going just about perfectly…and then I caved into going back for seconds of cake in the evening.
Still, I got lots of steps from mowing the lawn and walking the dog, plus a cold shower.
The cake was my daughter’s America Day idea: strawberries, cream cheese frosting, and blueberries.

Material delivery for the next job got delayed, which means I got an unwanted day off from work. Slept in late, woke up to do some chores, then went to have lunch with my friend. I watched the Ballerina today and also played some Monster Hunter Wilds. There's suddenly so much spare time when you don't have to play chess / monopoly/ lego with or read to your kid. Already starting to feel bored at times. Finally felt bad for sitting on my ass all day and went for a short run at night. I did push the pace a bit, made me pant, but felt great after the run. Feeling alive.
Today's stats:
Pretty good when you could have just gone full lazybones for the whole day.
I only had about 6.5k steps total for the day after the 5km run. That's how little I moved yesterday. Ended up walking around in the house while listening to BTC Sessions' Weekly Session to no lose my 33 days streak of 8k steps a day.
The value of streaks
Not sure if there's real value or just another pointless number we humans chase. I guess at least it got me to get off my ass. That seems valuable.
That cake sounds amazing. We got pizza for dinner to celebrate 4th of July. Pizza is healthy right?

My wife celebrates so I don’t really have a choice.
