Thought it might be interesting to do a SN version of the Big Mac index and see what price differences we get.
While not the biggest Mac D's fan, the kids like it, and it will sometimes be my fast food of choice when in the mall.
Big Mac nearest me is clocking in at about 6 euros , so about 6609 sats right now. Big Mac meal is about 10 euros , or 11,015 sats
Btw, a pro tip for anyone not using the McDonald's app - use it! There are quite often deals, and I quite often manage to use points to get a free cheeseburger or something.
I'll also add that I feel sorry for the people robbed by inflation of what used to be cheap food. Yes it was never the best, but it's still not the best, and now it costs way more. Fiat curse,
In fact, a Big Mac meal is actually more expensive than the black angus burger and fries options at one of Bulgaria's most popular restaurants, Happy Bar and Grill
That burger and fries at, basically, 19 Bulgarian lev = 9.50 euro. Doesn't include a drink, but the portion is way bigger.
Let's see what you stackers are paying (if not a big mac, some regional fast food equivilaent maybe )
Haven’t been to McDonald’s in years but the local McD’s menu is online so I looked it up. $7.19 (Canadian dollars) for a Big Mac. Around 4970 sats.
My Big Macs appear to be $6.48 CAD / 4454 Sats. Strange that the prices are not consistent.
I smell an arbitrage opportunity ;-)
i think it might be because Mac Ds is a franchise so there can be a little bit of difference. im sure they have a miniumum they have to charge, but in a more expensive state like California or something, i'd imagine it would be way higher
Things are generally a bit more expensive around here. Gotta squeeze the visiting city folk.
I did a little Internet digging and made a video about the inflation of a McDouble: #534935
that was a good one. people can feel the squeeze alright!
4859 sats in Australia
'Medium' Big Mac meal is 8065 sats.
edit: that Happy Bar and Grill (great name) burger looks very hell yeh brother. Definitely getting that down me if I'm ever in Bulgaria.
it's pretty good yeah, shits on the big mac lol
Here in Latin America, specifically in Lima, Peru, for a Big Mac, I'd be paying 6090 SATs!!!
Although I confess I almost never eat hamburgers there... I rather like their McFlurry ice cream, and here they cost 2350 SATs!!
6-7k sats for a Big Mac is sounding about the average.
i do also like a macflurry, i have to say (when the machine isnt broken!)
Yes, of course 😅
I'd stay away from that haha
4300 sats in korea at the moment...
That seems shockingly cheap! im actually jealous lol
The last time I was in mcdonads was for a doordash, and a big mac alone cost around $6 i believe. Can't say that I've ever had one haha.
6200 sats for sandwich only
In Nostr constantly I am receiving data on how the Big Mc index is.
after looking at the comments, i would have thought Bulgaria would have been on the cheaper end of the mac index, but looks about average so now cheap deals for me!
@remindme in 7 days
Like 7€ 💀🤣
It is delicious meal to eat once a while, it costs arround 11.50 euros in local currency in some places.
I'm sure it has a nasty "regret" feeling afterwords though
$13 for meal deal
