Maybe accepting that mortality rate with enough time is 100%? That dying is the most mediocre thing that could happen in the universe, being eaten by entropy, while life is really rare. For a stardust to become alive it needs some astronomically low odds, afaik 10^80 or something. Yet here we are.
I know one author in his blog described 3 axioms:
- If god/s exists
- If it is all mighty
- It has for every individual a mission
Then god can fulfill his willings in the most direct way: via our sensors and feelings. If you repel a thing then it's not in a god's wisdom. If it brings fulfillment then it is. Guess what? Atheists are one of the most successfull towards fulfilling the god's mission. He doesn't care if you don't believe in him, he wants you to finish the mission. And atheists do it without self imposed limits. Religious people are less successfull, they tend to speak of god's mission as if they know better. Some religions like buddhism even closes the way how god speaks to you.
Also drugs don't fulfill the mission, they block how god sends you information. Even with some caveats it's a fun argument, because almost every mainstream religion has all 3 axioms.
I still like to say it doesn't matter if it is, otherwise we are screwed since beggining if it's a biblical god or something else.
I haven't read any book from the list, so I'll risk to choose a game instead: Sanabi.
But better would random pick for the next read:
Altered Carbon come to me!
If Canonical wasn't so Microsoft-esque with strange decisions. The good old Amazon ads in the old versions, or the ad for Ubuntu pro in the terminal, old habits of cooking homegrown solutions instead of contribution to existing projects, or snap being centralised to their closed appstore and their push for this tech. They're not evil, but personally I don't like to trust them. Hell Canonical even had a Windows mobile called Ubuntu Touch, which now is a separate project. Linux Mint is just easier in this regard.
Ironically I started my linux journey with Manjaro, which has its own pile of crap and still survives in one of my systems after 4 years and 3 failed updates by power outage.
the pro-Russia breakaway region that is home to about 450,000 people
No way in transnistria to live this many people.
Now they transferred gas to coal plant to produce electricity, for which they have 50 days of reserves only for themselves. From where they would produce or import aftwerwards nobody knows.
Funnily a month ago transnistria refused moldovan aid for this shit. Want to create a humanitarian crysis before the 2025 moldovan parliamentary elections?
The place where you're not ashamed to take cloth off is also the place where you could do less but still "shamefull" things that you truly like and be free of judgement, be it singing or ass milking. Only if it's not in a public shower.
Or the sensation of liberation that also frees your mind and voice?
What a clown show. I remember a case with one italian father in covid time. He couldn't access the hospital to check for the tumour on his child's head, so the doctor proposed to send him a photo. Later his google account was terminated, with all early photos of his child and got police to the door for child abuse. His photos were automatically copied in google photos, including this one, and police was called by google. I refuse to use them.
If they optimise their spending mayybe they could survive. Mozilla have double budget of the linux foundation and they still seek to rise more money.
I don't know how comparable is privacy with librewolf, but I use fennec browser for mobile. It could run firefox extensions too, and being a firefox fork I risk to affirm it's same (for firefox). Even using alby extension with it.
My screen time is 2 hours on phone, in weekend it's less than an hour and 8 hours on laptop per day for now. Before getting laptop it was much more, was reading from 5.2 inch phone "loaned" books. I am proud of finishing the Atlas shrugged, Sovereign individual, When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops?, the demon haunted world by Carl Sagan, Road to Serfdom, uncommunist manifesto and 1984 with that screen. Would like to finish the constitution of liberty though.
I despise notifications so much I keep them silent always. It fills me with rage when it tries to catch my attention in random time, feeling like it tries to hook me into a sort of a slot machine, a skinner box made to doomscrool to increase engaging to watch more ads. I only keep calls with sound. Maybe that's why the only "social network" I have are the messengers, youtube and stacker news.
Even postmarket os and ubuntu touch doesn't need root. For flashes I remember requiring only unlocking bootloader.
