There is a lot of informal content on the internet. I think that's part of the point. You can write something informal and we can focus on the idea before doing the hard work of rigor, structure, comprehension, and the like. I find linking as I'm writing the idea easier than maintaining a bibliography.
I also find it funny that people are creating a crusade about informal content. If anything the focus should be advocating for the benefit of well-written content. Why are there so many people more interested in attacking ideas instead of finding ways to integrate them?
I mostly like the title of this post. The power of a few words. It's great that you helped them out but I think more importantly, if people are even simply asking, it goes a long way.
If you're a business owner and get 5 people that day asking if you're accepting BTC, they're going to start asking their own questions of "okay, why aren't I accepting it?" To make things smoother, it'd be nice to point them to a quick video or explanation of how easy it's become. Anyone have suggestions here?
Either way, I think I'm going to ask more as well. Thanks!
Most of the Bitcoin, Bitcoin Lightning, and Nostr crowds are Bitcoin maximalists that create and echo chamber (ie. the term "shitcoin") among themselves, unable to see the potential value of alternatives.
That's great but you're shooting yourself in the foot by only accepting bitcoin. Not only is making or finding something valuable hard to do at scale, it's also hard to get it in front of people. Then you want to tell them they have to jump through bitcoin hoops to get it.
Thankfully, bitcoin lightning is starting to become fairly easy to use. This, along with a discount of what credit cards might be charging might be enough over time. This seems much more scalable to me.
If anything lightning may also bring competition to platforms that require ridiculous KYC hoops to sell anything online. But then we already have things like Kijiji that leave payment up to the people.
Interesting. I don't make that association. Though I may not understand what "good" means there.
Either way, thanks for the recommend. I'll take a look.
