There is a lot of informal content on the internet. I think that's part of the point. You can write something informal and we can focus on the idea before doing the hard work of rigor, structure, comprehension, and the like. I find linking as I'm writing the idea easier than maintaining a bibliography.

I also find it funny that people are creating a crusade about informal content. If anything the focus should be advocating for the benefit of well-written content. Why are there so many people more interested in attacking ideas instead of finding ways to integrate them?
