I disagree with socialist on their assessment. The economy, isn’t oppressive, simply because labor cannot be adequately compensated. In most cases, labor can be adequately compensated, but in most cases, the profits are disproportionately split between employers and workers.
Most of the time, we are working for people who pay flat rates or salary’s. This is where a bulk of the exploitation happens. We want to keep our jobs, and generally in order to do that, we have to do things that were not in our job description when we were hired.
Some days the worker can be “over-paid” if there isn’t much work to be done. They can just pass time, get their hours done, and go home.
Other times they are bringing home the “honest check”, where the workload matches the pay and job description.
But when you get into peak seasons and hours, many of us are forced to wear several hats to keep the business functioning. This is where we get screwed the most.
The only environment where a worker has a choice, is an environment where said worker is paid a percentage based on performance. Most people opt out of these environments because pay can be inconsistent. Stack that with inflation which makes it impossible to save money for slower times of growth.
Most employer try to keep their labor budget at about 30% and use about 20% of their budget for advertising. They could make a choice to cut their advertising budget, and opt to pay individuals 50% of profits, but they don’t.
I believe that workers equally share some of the blame, because they opt for “security and stability”, even if they feel their skills and energy are being exploited. They accept low paying jobs instead of working in an environment that pays them based on their productivity.
People are afraid to take risks, and adverse to learning to increase their ability to earn more.
If the free market was based solely on percentages, with flat-rate wages eliminated, I think it would be healthier for a capitalist market. I also think it would be considerably healthier for the worker as well.
I think more people would choose jobs they like, boosting productivity in companies focused on quality products and knowledgeable workers. Strong cultures would thrive in this environment.
All it takes is one unselfish business owner to create a culture like this. Without us, these companies would have no sales. Most people are the only representatives of these companies that consumers know, doing all the work to create the sale, while the owners are never seen or heard from.
50/50 should be the way.
If Michigan wins at home, I can see a flip flop in rankings. I think A&M has a better shot than Texas just because they know their opponents better. They had an ok year last season and I guess they got some good transfers, and a new coach. I think Texas is going to struggle. We’ll know more after week 2.
I’ll follow you for sure! Thanks for tagging another Raider fan for me! You guys got my boy Ronnie Bell! Please tell me, what’s this NFL Survivor pool?
Da Raiiidaaaasss! LFG!
I don’t know if we’re the first, but considering this is the first football post I’ve seen on here it’s possible!
I’ll track that link you sent! How you feeling about the season? You think we make the playoffs?
Thanks! I’m definitely surprised because they have been ranking Michigan the same way the past three seasons. We had a lot of rotations last year and even though they lost some good players, I see them reloading. There’s a chance this offense could be more dangerous IMO and the defense is returning most of their production.
As for the NFL I try to keep up with it, but I’m more into college. I like the Raiders and I usually track former Michigan players, but I only take Saturdays off from work for CF. What about you? Who are your teams?
Hell yeah!
Propagation:
One of my favorite propagation methods is using propagation boxes.
This girl on YT Harli G has tons of game on how to grow cuttings.
She uses sphagnum moss and clear plastic tote containers to get her plants started. I’ve used this method for a while and it really works well.
Sphagnum moss is better than using soil because it helps raise humidity and has a lot of nutrients to promote root growth. It also cuts down on issues like mold.
I’ve used it for pothos, begonias, syngoniums, and alocasias.
Resources:
I mentioned Harli G, but there’s a lot of other great YT creators that break down individual plants types and what methods work best. Usually, I just search the name and watch a couple different videos so I can learn best practices and what works for me.
*Quick tip, if you don’t know what type of plant you have, you can use google lens in the Google app to help you identify the plant. Sometimes it may not give you the exact subspecies, but a lot of times it gets you close enough most of the time. If you think it’s misidentified the plant trading photos from different angles and cross check your results.
Where to get your plants:
My favorite place to go is always going to be a nursery just because they are usually super zen. Go with a budget in mind though because things can get out of hand quickly🤣
Other places to check:
Facebook for local plant trade/swaps.
Suprisingly, I learned Etsy has a lot of sellers as well.
Rarer plants are harder to take care of and usually grow at a slower rate. Don’t rush them.
Care tips:
Soil matters! Once you know what plant you have, look into what types of substrates they naturally grow in. Tropicals like pothos are good in chunkier soil and plants like begonias need a lighter mix because their roots aren’t strong enough to push heavier/thicker (like clay) substrates out of the way. Don’t hesitate to spend more on soil it’s worth it.
Prune often! Plants love a fresh cut. When you are taking cuttings, it signals to the roots that it’s time to grow more, this can help make your plants thicker/fuller.
If I see a lead is getting sick/starting to brown I usually just cut the leaf off. This helps prevent spread of disease, promotes that new growth, and keeps your plant from expending energy to a leaf that’s on its way out. It doesn’t hurt the plant.
Rotate! If you see your plant starting to lean/or all the leaves are going in one direction, rotate the plant so that the other side can get more sunlight. This will help you prevent runners (long stems with little to no leaves) and help keep your plants growing nice and even!
Talk to em! For your health and theirs it’s good to let your plants know how much you love them and they usually don’t mind if you tell them all your problems. Every breath you take is a breath for your plants.
I attached a link to Harli G’s YT page below! I hope some of these tips help!
Tolerant, but if she keeps Gensler and Yellen around? Doom and gloom. But, Bitcoin won’t care either way!
I know right?! I use it a lot to try to understand different terms. It’s a way better resource than Google that’s for sure! I still feel like there’s other ways to lose a cowboy hat around here though, so I’m not taking any chances! Hence the “(maybe)”😅
“Strategic Plan = continuous improvement and evolution
Strategic Alliance = it takes a village, a tribe
“Knowing the intersection of the things going on around you.”
Adaptive Resilience = manage change effectively
“Culture that fosters the change that is going on.”
Positive Psychology = focus on the things you do well in life.
A culture that thinks together becomes more coherent. We’ve got a lot of work to do based on where we stand today.”
Bitcoin and its programmatic nature, is the key to rethinking capitalism and collaborative culture. I’m here because I’ve worked for too many terrible bosses. Bitcoin and other open source projects will help me build a brand with transparency as the primary focus.
I love tropicals! My favorites are alocasias and cebu blue pothos! When I learned how to propagate the whole game changed. Plants are therapy, happy growing!
“you lost your cowboy hat
After 4 days, your hat was stolen by a mischievous prairie dog. You won't catch the dog, but you can always find another”
Seeing as I presumably have lost my hat here in this saloon like many before me, I just wonder when someone is going to close the door so wildlife can’t get in.
I’m bummed. Surely management has received many reports of these burrowing raiders pillaging their patrons. I need a cold one.
