42 sats \ 1 reply \ @Coinsreporter OP 3h \ parent \ on: My Two Sats Proposal for SN Growth meta
I meant it mostly from the perspective of new users and also the users for who'd think it's too much. Why make it sound like "you've to pay to post and comment on SN while Nostr (and other media) is free.
The problem is in the approach. SN should be a place where we should be replacing likes with zaps, but we're too focused on other things.
Yes, I agree. And if the fees are low, there's not much to bother about if someone will zap it or not.
The discovery of content on SN is not personalised which definitely should be there. There's much on the front pages that I don't wanna see but I have to. Definity there are many issues but nothing is as important as having more users on SN.
When I joined on SN, I did not zap too much for a few days, it was something very new to me, but then I learnt the importance of Zapping. It's not that we need to teach the folks how much to zap but we just need to expect that they start believing that 1 Sat = 1 Like.
I think terms like quality, v4v are over exaggerated on SN. It seems like that SN is closed for those who aren't serious or fun loving or just casual reader, or younger age groups, where are they? Why can't I see them?
What I want that SN should be accessible and be the interest of more and more people. The one way to achieve it is with more quantity of content (something for everyone).
What do you prefer?
A1000 people paying/Zapping/posting/comenting in ~econ or 10 to 20 only? I'd definitely put my my more faith in somthing that's been zapped by 1000 be it with 1 sat than by one person. I'd love to see SN evolve into a pay-to-post social media than remaining open for "Botcoiners only".
my POV is that the lower the price is the more content and user activity SN gets, which means it gets more visibility on the internet.
If you haven't seen, there is a territory which has 750 sats for posting!
Thanks.
50k/m seems too high, right?
I've just roughly given an idea that Territory fees needs to be lowered and also the posting fees. If we gonna lower it to 25k, posting fee can be 25 which might work similar purpose.
I don't care about it at all because I don't have to. We here still use earthen pots for many things like storing water, milk, curd, Yogurt, for cooking, and a special one "kullad Tea".
Drinking water
We almost everywhere have a market for earthen pots
My bad. I'm using laptop now and didn't bother to look below the post tab. But it's ok, please count it as a cross post, haha
I get your point. My growth plan is about how to increase User activity on SN, not the revenue for SN. Reddit is still not sure about profit with millions of users. Not comparing but it gives support to my proposal.
And it's also true that SN can only be supported if it has more users, more content and more activity. All in all I mean why not just give it a try and see for a few months if that makes some difference.
Having control over those settings is part of the value of buying a territory
you're right. I gave it a thought too. Maybe an upper cap should be labeled. There are territories which have incredibly high cost of posting.
Yes I agree it's a topic for SN foundry which I flaunt of being the newest (not sure) member of with ~Goods_and_Gadgets.
More territories = more content = more users.
Less posting fees = more sustainability
I'm also thinking about how to make SN within reach of global users, it seems too much USA centerpiece as of now.
I think lowering the cost will do it. SN might award every new stacker 100 (or more) CCs to begin with. that way nothing is free and safe from manipulation but a kick can be given to a normie.
I didn't say they are the biggest ones, but they are. I think SN can do much better with less costs by bringing in more people of any sorts and then letting them learn. There can be many who might think that X and Reddit are better because they don't charge you to post. On the same time, there can be some who will ignore the fact that it's just a 10 sat to post - not a big deal, same for comments. by reducing the territory fees, I also think that SN will see many territories which otherwise should be here already.

A gradual increase in the daily rewards could've been much better than a decrease.
Thanks. I've never ever given it much importance as being in sports required me some extra calories, as they said. But now at this age, and inspired from you, I'm learning and enjoying it. It seems to as a direct result that I feel more energetic when fasting and not working physically. When I've eaten my body either wants to lay down or move briskly.
BTW broken the fast just now with two choco cookies and a cup of tea.
