Just released nostrss 1.0.0 beta release yesterday !
There's still plenty of room for new features and improvements, but i must admit i'm quite proud to have been able to build such program with Rust. :D
I am currently writing an application that broadcasts RSS feeds onto Nostr.
Such tool already exists with golang as @fiatjaf did build one. However i already started my project when i saw that it was already existing.
Main difference is that the app i'm building will be built with Rustlang and will be CLI only.
In its current state, the application broadcasts all the feeds under a single Nostr identity, so i'm looking to allow configuring the application to associate a specific nostr profile to one or many feeds.
Not much. Routine work here, awaiting for tonight so I'll start implementing multi-profile handlers for my rust rss-nostr bridge as I finished configuring the automatic binary release yesterday
Trying to save my umbrel node which has hard time connecting to peers and won't sync even if i can't find any detailed error in logs
Funky week-end ongoing :(
Well, guess that they changed their mind considering the number of people requesting for it.
Definitely this will cause some trouble on small hardware. I tried to run the nostr-rs-relay on my own config and i remember the RaspPi fan having to work hard :/
But hey, people do whatever they want with their node in the end.
Maybe they should have added a warning regarding the resources consumption of the app though.
Good luck to the support for handling the people that will bloat their node with this :D
There is a bottom to the rabbit hole ? Damn, 6 years digging and i feel I still have ton loads of stuff to discover/understand/handle.
This will get better as i'm pretty that with alongside adoption, POW usage to get messages published on major nodes will be required
Trying to build a bridge beetween RSS feeds and Nostr with Rust.
The experimentation is quite interesting but as frustrating too as i'm stuck with some ideas due to lack of maturity on some helpers in rust ecosystem =(

You can't imagine how much of this. We were on a pair programming session with 2 colleagues awaiting for the payment timer to expire so we could watch the food being given altogether :D
Nah, i rather stick onto writing bloatware, at least it doesn't harm other people's life, only their machines :)
Hi here,
I am the author of the repo mentioned.
I do confirm that this is a "pay to download" file server project ( originally a personal side project)
Sorry if it seems shitty to you, the intent was to build something similar to Agora but with a split between front-end & back-end parts.
As per the comments i'll try to make the intro more explicit.
Any constructive additional feedback will be welcomed of course :)
EDIT : i must admit i'm a bit confused by being qualified as bloatware, but if any insight on how to avoid that kind of features ending being a bloatware i'll take it.
