Definitely, we probably need some help and feedback defining and building the escrow service! shame @Tristan dropped the project... wtf happened?
great ideas! Our general store is actually outside SN π https://AGORA.ftp.sh/op
these products came up as an excuse to have a test product to share in the marketplace and start playing with some AGORA collection, mostly to satisfy our own ego. It evolved with the SN collection making much more sense... we don't know how it will evolve.
Offering or making products for others... Definitely yes! We never thought abut it. SN is a community as a whole s I don't see why we should not support other territories to grow..
Your and the community feedback are needed and will drive where the marketplace want to go. Moderation and offering supporting service on the side we think is also important.
in few conversations, l noticed for example the need for buyers to have an escrow service (we are working on it) and for sellers to have their own shop/page where to direct traffic to. The shopfront was a first intent leveraging current SN functionalities... who knows what's next! We look forward to future feature releases and adapt consequently.
The main focus still being the initial one, drive and teach how to honestly trade P2P.
Indeed, they are really new and better used from desktop. In the other side Satscrap, changed name since your last visit π€£ (satstash) and it could be good alternative too. Never spent much energy on it, I'll sign up and explore how it works
you could try nostr platforms like shopstr and cypher.space if you didn't already. I know is little value, maybe too much efforts... but if in your interest, it is an opportunity to learn how this platforms work and how your nostr WoT could help spread that message out
Maybe bartering is the future... Let's make bartering great again! At least within our local communities. Those without nothing to offer will be forced to barter their sats, bitcoin is the alternative, not the solution :)
My neighbours don't even have bank cards lol
Such a lucky man!
Usually local products are more expensive. Worth the quality though, as it is not even comparable to what retail chains can offer.
I like experiments, have you tried testing interest of your local community before going online, maybe at a meetup or some other local community event? It will save you time and efforts in shipping, a big pain if not managed properly.
I've a draft ready for a post about this. The main issue I see is that a lot changes depending on the region seller/buyer are.
I'll try to provide some national (for as many regions I can find) and international options.
great initiative! Are you planning to orange pill your neighbors or you'll take care of the reselling? What would be the price excluding shipping?
