great question. i was an english major during my university years, and this skill was the epitome of everything i did.
critical thinking skills always stem from when you question quite literally, everything.
with the simplest question being:
"why?"
when you ask yourself this, it makes your brain infer, assume, and predict what the answer you're seeking could be. it also creates a sort of domino effect for more questions to be asked within the topic you're focusing on.
also, write whatever answers down that come to your mind that way you can reference back to them as you start to formulate a greater in depth discussion!
hope this helps :)
Thanks as always for the shoutouts @siggy47 🤭
this is so so true! bringing thoughts to both of these is so draining. the present is what should always be focused on because that is what truly matters.
I definitely write from my heart 90% of the time. It’s where the most creative and genuine part of myself comes out, and where the least amount of thinking is done. It’s where I can be myself, and not feel bad about it at all. There is a flow when my writing comes from within, which I think sounds a bit like reading a character’s pov from a book (as you well know already, my love). It’s like organized chaos when my voice comes out in the words.
Then there is the occasional business or formal writing stuff, which is completely centered around your mind at which you “have” to articulate yourself correctly so you don’t sound stupid.
This is where that structure and organized thinking really comes into play. To be fair, most of the its boring as hell and makes me feel “fake” in a way. But then there are other forms of writing that involve formal research papers, essays, etc. that also sound boring, but depending on what it is for, can be enjoyable or a dread to write. It really depends.
As for being received by audiences, creative writing wins in my opinion. 👌🏼
i feel like i don’t really have a blog haha, i just write what i feel wherever on here and call it a day. i think siggy has mentioned me once, and that will do.
i am still giving myself time to think about it. i haven't truly begun teaching yet, so i need to see what it is like before i raise the white flag. management and stupid principal aside, this is for me and not them, and i need to experience the teaching side as best as i can.
