Just noticed this post, sorry for the delay.
Geyser cannot freeze funds, as mentioned. And we custody funds at no point, not even for a split second, because we first send funds to the receiver before we take the funds from the senders. this is through the hodl invoice contract.
For pure censorship resistance we have plans in the future of making Geyser available for node runners and more plans to integrate with Nostr. More on this soon.
Yes, Geyser does provide LN Addresses to every project! It has been over a year now @k00b! :P
For example, Anita's Project on Geyser has her own Geyser ln address: https://geyser.fund/project/bff, bff@geyser.fund. And since she runs her node we don't take any fees from all transactions going to her.
I'm a big believer that LN addresses could be the new standard for interoperable payments across platforms, AND funds going both ways:
- Funding going from SN to Geyser: users forwarding sats to Geyser ln addresses.
- Funding from from Geyser to SN: users could be sending people to Geyser which supports onchain payments, and sats flowing to Stacker News.
I'd love to see this!

Equity Pleb raises through Lightning Ventures is probably your best bet right now.
We decided to pass on the equity crowdfunding for now, it's too regulated and permissioned, and doesn't fully need/leverage bitcoin (for now). However, we're keeping a close eye on new exciting equity models like NostrRocket, that could disrupt how equity works from the bottom up.
As per the idea of using Geyser to help raise funds towards specific bounties, Geyser can provide the following value-added:
- Contributors can fund with onchain and so potentially give substantially higher amounts than is usually held in lightning wallets.
- Contributors can see their profile attached to the contributions and feel recognized for it (in SN it's all lumped together)
- Contributions can happen directly form StackerNews
- You can give away Nostr Badges or other perks/rewards to those who fund more than a certain amount
- You can leverage donations from the bitcoin community on Geyser
- Btw, Geyser is free to use if you use your own Node, we only take 2% if you connect a lightning address.
- In both cases we generate a @geyser.fund ln address, meaning that you can get funded from anywhere and it would show in your Geyser project. We also support Zaps!
- We have our weekly leaderboards, and can help promote SN even further (not that you guys need much promotion, as you have such a great brand + community)

Similarly to 'spend and replace' we need options where you can spend in Credit Card and receiver receives in Sats. The principle is the same, but what's better is that the third party in between takes care of the capital gains issue.
