I would like to discuss the issue of donations in different situations.
About donations to developers, content makers, article authors, and others, it's clear. You could just start accepting donations in bitcoin.
However, there is an important aspect that I would like to point out, which is donations in emergency situations. I don't want to touch on politics, so I will say briefly: the events currently taking place in Ukraine personally affect me and my circle. When I try to financially support this country, I encounter harassment in connection with banking transactions. Bitcoin solves this problem in such cases, and I have taught my acquaintances to ignore bank transfers and the government.
The same applies to the earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria earlier this year. People and organizations involved in collecting donations should definitely provide opportunities for those who wish to express their support by sending sats.
If there are people here who are organizing donations or who know such people, I suggest we start accepting bitcoins. This will greatly expand the circle of people willing to help.
That's why we built https://geyser.fund/.

  • rally interest in your cause
  • recognize funders
  • tell your story.

Yes, I just recently heard about you. It's very cool that sites like this are popping up.

I approve of geyser! I donated tons of sats over there!

I am no expert but count me in if you're looking to start something yourself. I'm sure you're aware of the work of Alex Gladstein and Anita Posch. I also assume you witnessed the generosity and mess ups that occurred during the Canadian trucker crisis. A lot of lessons to be learned there.

Thank you, but I would also act as a supporter, not as an organizer. I know about the Canadian truckers' crisis on a small scale. I'll look into it further, thank you.
