How has the LN improved since the Torch?!

You can compile it from source if you want too, but you would also need to install a postgres database with timescaleDB (you can connect to an existing one and add timescaleDB plugin too). I would recommend using docker though, but understand it if you want to avoid installing a lot on your node.

A better option is to simply install Torq on a separate server using docker.

That's a great question, we will have to dig into that further, but I’m suspecting the the same as you. Another source of these might be exchanges and wallets, for example when kraken initially launched their node.

Torq does not yet offer automation of rebalancing and fees, but it gives you a lot more insight into what is happening with your channels. So it might give you clues to why you did not see much of a difference or why a channel is performing better or worse than before. We will add automation soon
