This week, football fever will take us around the world. We will kick off in Europe, where Portugal and Spain will fight in the UEFA Nations League Final on Sunday. The European Champions with Lamine, Nico, Pedri, Fabian et al will try to become champions against Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal. But he is not the only one to be concerned at this squad. Bernardo Silva, Bruno Fernandes, Vitinha among others will make things really difficult. Spain needs to improve their defense if they want to win this match.
Next match will take place in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday . The Socceroos are almost qualified for the World Cup , but there is a very remote chance that Saudi Arabia qualifies instead. Jeddah will see which team goes through to the World Cup.
Then, middle of the week, we will move to South America for the World Cup Qualifiers. This week, Argentina will play against Colombia. They are 10 points clear from the second, Ecuador, with only 3 matches to play. Spanish journalists keep on talking about the newest rising Argentinian star, Franco Mastantuono, and there are rumors that Real Madrid is behind him.
Meanwhile, in São Paulo, Brazil will have another chance to change their pace and return to the winning path. This time against Paraguay, that beat Uruguay just recently.
We will jump to North America over the weekend, where the attention will go to the Gold Cup and the World Club Cup. Gold Cup's first match will gather Mexico against Dominican Republic on Saturday for our American stackers. The following day, the recently crowned as European Club Champion, PSG will make its debut against Atletico Madrid in the World Club Cup.
Plenty of action this week and I hope you enjoy it.
