This is the place to reflect on how well you met your ~HealthAndFitness goals today.
Where did you succeed? What do you need to keep working on?
I probably didn't get enough sleep and overcompensated with caffeine. Otherwise, today was pretty solid. Other than a big cookie, I ate well and kept it within a decent window. Activity level was good, not great.
I meant to stretch more today, which I didn't really do, but I suppose I can do now.

The weather had been very nice the past several days, although it's starting to get hot as well, especially in the afternoon. Drinking a cold beer as I type this up. I guess that's not very healthy, but I do think the enjoyment is very healthy mentally. Was feeling quite tired today, maybe because my wife woke me up last night at around 2am because she had a nightmare and needed someone to talk to. I should really go to bed now. Good thing my friends are busy tomorrow morning, so weekly Saturday morning walks with friends are cancelled, meaning I can sleep in.
Today's stats:
  • 150 push ups (3 sets of 50)
  • 5km run at average 5:18/km pace
  • Chickened out and skipped on the cold shower, had a nice warm shower instead. Will try to get back at it tomorrow.
  • 15913 steps

With so many kids, I'd never have suspected the wife of being the one to wake you up in the middle of the night.
I just saw someone posting on nostr about the health benefits of minor alcohol consumption, so it's probably a win-win for mind and body.

3 is not that many. My kids are very good sleepers, so we typically don't get waken up by them in the middle of the night. At least not during recent years, as even my little one is 7 already, and the older 2 are 13 and 14.

Probably propaganda written by someone trying to legitimize alcohol consumption, haha. But I'll take it. I'll also show it to my wife next time she nags me about drinking.

I've also assumed small amounts of alcohol are good for us. It's a complex molecule that naturally forms in foods we eat, so our bodies should have found something useful to do with those trace quantities.

Self control and not let one indulge leading to overconsumption is the key. And I have to admit that I perform poorly on the self control part.

Ate well! Napped! Walked! Not bad, not bad.
And a major business goal met, which means I can make more time for health. I said today "I've been sprinting." and my partner pointed out that sprinting for six weeks is more like a marathon. I don't have to work 16 hour days and I can take most of the weekend off. I'm going for a run.

What a relief! Just being free of that stress will be great for you.
Also, I'm not envious of many things, but the ability to nap is one of them. Good for you.

Exhaustion is my ambien.
I am unfortunately not modelling healthy sleep. One of my daughters is a night owl and an overworked student. I try to be in bed by midnight most nights but she is often up much later than that doing homework.
Sleep is a habit and so is bad sleep. I am pretty tired but still only got 7 hours last night. Ah well. Since I'm up, I'm going for a run.
