Portugal and Spain will play on Sunday to become UEFA Nations League Champions for the second time.
Yesterday, Portugal beat Germany 2-1 after completing a great come back in Munich. Florian Wirz scored first after a great assist by Kimmich, just after halftime. Portuguese did not surrender and Conceiçao scored the equaliser thanks to a stunning shot that went into the far corner of the net. Portugal kept trying and, just 5 minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo (aged 40) scored the winning goal.
Tonight, we had another great match between France and Spain. France started at a very strong pace though could not finalize any of their opportunities. Later on, Spain struck twice thanks to 2 incredibles assists by Oyarzabal. Nico Williams and Merino put Spain on the lead (2-0) before halftime.
Second half started pretty much the same as the first one, France pushing to reduce the distance with Spain. However, Lamine Yamal (penalty) and Pedri added two more goals. Shortly after Mbappé scored a penalty and it looked like that the match could end there. Lamine scored again to increase the distance to 5-1. An incredible result between these two nations.
But, the match had not ended. Spain looked like relaxed and France managed to score three more goals. Finally, with more suffering than expected, Spain beat France 5-4 and will play against CR7's Portugal on Sunday.
I hope you could watch it as it was very entertaining.
Big win for Spain. I was surprised by the Portugal outcome after I heard they had not won against Germany in a long time.

That was a huge win for Portugal, and it was well deserved! Yeah, we hadn't won in 25 years, and in those 25 years, we only played 5 games. I told you that delay for the game to start because of a hail storm was a good omen. Haha!

Yes, can't wait for next year's World Cup!
Regarding Portugal, fantastic finish by Conceiçao and still relaying in a 40 year old player. The thing he keeps performing great at a top level , even though he is playing in a minor league. I am sure he will be very motivated on Sunday.

Wow! That would have been historical, had France won it. The Spain team looks very tough to beat on paper. What dod they do? Did they bench key players after seeing 5-1?
reply
Well, after 4-1 Pedri and Nico Williams were benched and substitutes could not control the match. To make things worse, Spain had to bench Le Normand and his substitute made an own goal and also did not defend well the fourth goal.
