There is a possibility that is true. But Elon is appearing unhinged....like having a breakdown unhinged.
I'm not sure how he envisions this playing out for him (the public will swoon back to his companies....maybe he picks up the love of the left again)?? My gut says this won't play out great for Elon. His antics are placing DJT supporters in an impossible situation which they will support DJT over Elon....

There's a 100% certainly that it's true, but it's also been known for ages (here's an article from Feb about the Bondi release that confirms it).
But yeah, Elon's looking unhinged online, and while Trump also looks that way, "unhinged" has been his standard, and it's not going to cost his companies billions.

Yeah I wouldn't doubt DJT flew on Epsteins plane...
Elons behavior is pretty "autistic" here though....like his not thinking enough moves ahead about how this is going to playout.
  1. DJT threatens to pull all gov contracts
  2. Tesla price continues to fall
  3. Shareholders / Board revolts and removes Elon....
Not saying thats going to happen, but Elon is effectively rage-quitting

This is the wildest crash out I have ever seen lol

Tesla has lost about $128B so far today....how long will shareholders put up with the antics?

I think Elon is very frustrated by the courts and now Congress
no one in DC wants to cut spending or eliminate waste fraud abuse

I truly think he thought he could man handle and bulldoze his way through with Members. The issue is if Republicans had say a 30 seat majority he would have a solid shot but we donโ€™t. We get 3 flips tops and then itโ€™s over.
Members have there things that they care about and are important to them that they want to keep the money there for. However when everyone has one or two it spirals. Negotiations are critical and it got the House there but the trade off ended up being his tax credits to not have federal land sales

haha....hadn't heard about that....

So true.
Not trying to make an excuse for them, but I'm starting to wonder if we are beyond the point of being able to cut printing. Not like "we don't have the political will", but like "the structure of the monetary system will collapse unless we keep printing".

I learned recently that Canada had zero bank failures between 1930 and 1933. USA had over 9000 during the same period.
Canada did not have a central bank before 1935.
The country with no central bank had zero bank failures, coincidence or causation?

Yep. Probably the most prosperous time of US was 1870-1913. I mean this was era that put USA on the map...of course that era we didn't have a central bank.
This is not at all surprising. One of Trump's biggest flaws is how petty he can be. Look at how he's treated Thomas Massie and Rand Paul who both supported him when it was not popular. But then when he does things that go against their long standing principles he can't look past that but has to single them out. Its how he rolls.

Mr Massie makes a lot of sense to me. But as I've said. The system itself is corrupting. Nothing wrong with a dude calling it out though.
Honestly those two people are honestly terrible people and horrible members of Congress so thatโ€™s not exactly a great comparison
reply
Why do you say that? Because you disagree with them? What makes them terrible people and horrible members of congress?
reply
Oh because they do not compromise on legislation when in discussions. If you donโ€™t give them or their staff everything they want they just take their toys and go home. Itโ€™s a terrible mind set when you are in negotiations with your own party over things.
reply
Yeah... I strongly disagree. They are there to represent their people that voted for them. Their voters know what they are voting for and these guys hold to their principles pretty consistently vs. most politicians. I really think the biggest issue in politics is the party nonsense. The trading favors and all that. Yeah that's how it works... and that's why it doesn't work for the people.
reply
What do you mean. If everyone acted like him we would be even more dysfunctional. He is elected as a leader and leaders donโ€™t hold legislation hostage like they both have done before that helps their constituents and cuts red tape.
Massie and Paul arenโ€™t leaders or followers they are just people who take something that isnโ€™t complex and have to put their figure print on it and nuke the whole thing. I forgot what bill it was that Massie got everything he wanted but he still voted against it and essentially made multiple Congressional Staffs lives hell to say great we got what we want and then vote no

Who knows whats the real cause for the fallout....both have tremendous egos.
Is it possible that Elon really really believed they were going to cut trillions of dollars of spending...and he is actually mad about that? (thats the story parroted in press)
If this is true, it sort of aligns with Elons consistent dismissal of bitcoin. He likely just doesn't understand the situation we are in and therefore continually downplays bitcoin's importance.

Welp this will do it

Many people decry Musk being involved at all and Trump's connections and all the unfair deals... blah blah blah. Its all old hat stuff that has been happening for decades. Maybe even since the early days of the Republic. The problem is when you have centralized control over massive parts of the economy this stuff is inevitable. Its more raw and blatant now but its not new and I really don't know if it is even worse.
When you look at the revolving doors in FDA and the Pentagon with industry it stinks. Its just not talked about by post politicians. Its only talked about when it is directed to one party by the other. The system is never in question. Its not that there is corruption. Of course there is. Its that the incentives encourage corruption and punish those that do not partake in the corruption. Its a corrupting system of state power.
Its not capitalism. Its corporatism and those that refuse to play lose. So we must find some round about way to subvert it :)
