Hi friends,
I want to share a little story with you—equal parts nerves, excitement, and a leap of faith. It’s about something big: my first-ever flight abroad, and why I need your help to make it happen.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamed of Japan. The culture, the kindness, the contrast of ancient temples beside neon skylines—it calls to something deep inside me. This year, that dream is becoming real: I’ve been accepted to [insert program/school/volunteer opportunity] in [Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka], a journey that promises to change my life forever.
But here’s the thing—I’ve never flown before. Not just to another country… ever. The idea of boarding a plane alone, navigating airports with signs I can’t read yet, and arriving in a place where everything is unfamiliar? Honestly, it scares me.
So I started asking around.
I reached out to seasoned travelers, online forums, even some kind souls at the airport. I got advice like:
-“Print your itinerary in English and Japanese.”

-“Ask for help—people are kinder than you think.”

-“Always pack an extra charger, and snacks!”
It helped. Not just logistically, but emotionally. Because I realized: every experienced traveler was once a nervous first-timer too.
And now, I’m asking you—my friends, family, and community—for your support. Flights, visas, and initial expenses are adding up fast, and I’m launching this fundraiser to help cover the costs of getting me off the ground—literally.
Every donation, big or small, helps lift me closer to this dream. And if you can’t give financially, advice, encouragement, or even sharing this means the world to me.
This isn’t just a trip. It’s a bold step into the unknown. With your support, I’ll take it with courage, curiosity, and a heart wide open—ready to grow, learn, and represent the love that sent me there.
Thank you for reading. Thank you for believing. Let’s take flight—together.
With gratitude, Lanter✈️💙
