Don’t think that there will ever come a time when you stop making mistakes. That there will be a time when you are so good and wise and virtuous that you can do no harm; and do no wrong.
Accept your fate as a flawed mortal being, accept your mistakes — no, OWN your mistakes, but don’t let them own you.
Learn from them without dwelling on them — because they are like quicksand — dwell on them and you will sink in, they will consume you; and soon you will be enveloped by them in such a way that you will only be surrounded by THEM: your mistakes, your selfishness, your foolishness, your hubris, your sins.
And if all you have is that, then, well — I would say that’s pretty damn close to Hell.
However, if you completely ignore all that, then that’s like a small fire in your house that you’re not doing anything about. Continue paying no attention and soon, the things you ignored will burn your whole house down.
The Fire is a powerful friend, but a terrible enemy.
