Today, I had my work review with my immediate boss. When asked what I intended to do for the department in my final few weeks, I mentioned something about collating a list of collocations so that my colleagues could track the requirements demanded of students from Year 1 to Year 4. In response, she suggested that I could instead leave behind a list of strategies that worked well for my students and me so that my colleagues could benefit from my classroom teaching. I couldn’t help but feel touched by her affirmation of my work in the classroom.
