You'll be tempted to shitcoin. Don't do it, you will lose that money.
Other than that, the best thing to do is to start educating yourself about Bitcoin and why it is what it is. I read Bitcoin Is Venice recently and loved it, but I think Saifedean's book is rightly the Bitcoin 101 book of choice in this space.

Learn about bitcoin and taxes. Do you want to make a trade or use that bitcoin ? If you just want to make a trade buy your coins on one exchange (avoid having 10 different exchange). Otherwise buy bitcoin on P2P platforms (Peach, HodlHodl, Bisq). I would also suggest researching the topic of privacy in general.
