I think he wants to coach and I don't see anyone else lining up to hire him so I say he stays.

Yeah, he'll stay. It seems like it was just a potential out in case he gets a head coaching gig again (which seems highly improbable at this point).

It's hard to imagine a team would give him a HC job at his age with the level of control that he demands. If he was even 5 years younger I don't think it would be an issue.
The 49ers offered him the DC job for last season but he wasn't interested in anything but HC and supposedly he wants a lot of control over roster and football operations.

I can't decide how this UNC job will go. Could go really good (since college football is now pro football, maybe a coach like Belichick will be great), or it might go really badly (he can't connect at all with 18, 19, 20 year old young men). My gut leans toward it going bad.

I tend to agree that it'll go bad. I think there's too many distractions, and Bill has turned more into a meme than a credible coach amongst that demographic.
