Is it feasible to mine it from earth's crust though?
Even though things like asteroid mining may not be economically feasible I do wonder if the prospect alone puts a cap on gold prices. Sure at 3k an ounce it is not worth it but what about at 10k an ounce.

That gold is going to be difficult to extract...
Yeah. I think gold will have to hit a certain price point to justify the effort (and it can’t be a price spike).
That’s how I’m thinking about it. If it’s worth the effort, then sure.
