I don't know exactly what might break, but I strongly believe it will be related to the credit system, which is becoming more popular in countries that previously didn't have a culture of installment payments for basic purchases.

I honestly don't know how they'll manage to keep the debt-based system the way it is. It's been a while since the U.S. has been directly involved in a war to help sustain the dollar's attractiveness.
