The story is absolutely brilliant. The most I can say without spoilers is that this is a story about a man who was born with an extraordinary sense of smell, and he spends his life trying to reproduce the aroma of a woman he encountered, going to extreme lengths to do so. No wasted dialog, the whole movie feels like a good, poetically dark fairy tale. The cinematography is stunning, and the set pieces and scenery are beautiful and immersive.
