The project made its debut in March 2023 by running the world’s first large-scale Bitcoin Film Festival (aka BFF) in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. Its success led to more events, known as ‘BFF minis’, held in Lisbon, Lugano, San Salvador, Cape Town, Funchal, and Maribor, bringing a cinematic touch to renowned conferences. The second annual edition, linked to the halving celebrations, took place in April 2024, combining screenings with numerous side events and transforming Warsaw into the capital of Bitcoin culture.
Rebel base:
FROM RED TO ORANGE 🏰
While Bitcoin FilmFest will regularly host and participate in events locally and abroad, Warsaw serves as BFF’s home base. Held in the iconic Palace of Culture and Science—a unique building erected on Stalin’s orders—for a few days each year, it brings the message of decentralization and freedom to a venue that was once a symbol of central control.
Role & Focus:
THE 🧡 OF BITCOIN CINEMA
No matter how great they are, Bitcoin FilmFest goes beyond a series of events. In fact, it also serves as a networking platform, the Bitcoin Cinema Hub, that brings together the fiercest minds from many areas—independent creators, filmmakers, producers, freedom-seekers, and cinema fans.
For critical thinkers and freedom-seekers, filmmakers and cinema buffs alike. We build bridges between art, culture, education. – BFF Team
