will gene edited babies be the norm in the future?

saw this pop up today and was thinking about gene editing

(Doctors in the US have become the first to treat a baby with a customised gene-editing therapy after diagnosing the child with a severe genetic disorder that kills about half of those affected in early infancy. last time I heard much in media it was when the Chinese scientist did a bit of sneaky gene editing.)
do you think gene editing will be the norm in the future, maybe standard for disease, and a premium for designer babies?

Yes. It will start for correcting disease but eventually will become designer babies.

I think known cosmetic alterations, like eye or hair color, will probably roll out very early as well.
In principle, it's not so different from selecting embryos with known traits, which is already done.

I definitely think gene editing will become more accessible over time. It's an ethical dilemma we'll have to confront.

i think for illness and stuff it;s not an ethical question, but for cosmetic enhancements things get weird

I dunno I’ve read there are massive risks around crispr tech. They might cause more disease than they cure.
