He is a top 10 QB but not top 5. I am ok with the contract. It’s a bit more than I would like but the cap is going to take a big jump next year and the Eagles proved you can pay a QB well and still keep an elite team together.

Some interchangeability in the above but I’d take them all above purdy on an individual basis.
I think purdy belongs in tier of

Kyler

I think Purdy belongs in with that Goff through Stafford group. I think Stafford's better than those other guys, but he's getting older and might be more injury prone.

I think Kyler is better than purdy and stafford and has more dynamic upside but keeping him in the 10-15 area for objectivity. That list isn’t meant to be ordered but rather a bucket of guys interchangeable any given Sunday

Would definitely rather have Goff, love, Herbert, stroud, or hurts over purdy or Kyler

Why does Purdy get docked for having weapons and Goff and Hurts don’t. I don’t understand the Purdy hate. He was the last pick so everyone wants him to suck and fail. He has been the most efficient QB in the NFL since entering the league. Fans are so obsessed with these high talent boom or bust guys.

I think purdy is a great game manager and an overall good qb but lacks upper echelon talent ceiling.
Same shit was said about Brady too so who knows and maybe he wins 3+ super bowls and is known as one of the most clutch QBs of the era.
I respect the threat the 49ers are with him but don’t “fear” them like a Josh Allen type puts fear into me every time he gets the ball
I'm not there with Goff or Stroud, but I'd probably take those other guys over Purdy, too.

It’ll be a good objective comparison over the next few seasons now that each qb is taking up a similar amount of cap space. Look forward to the 2x head to head matches a season

Kyler has as much talent as anyone, but he's lacking pretty much all of the intangibles. I'd take Purdy well over Kyler.

I think Kyler gets hated on too much by national media for the narrative he doesn’t work hard or is a good leader.
Guys in the facility everyday since his knee injury 2 seasons ago and welcoming all the rookies etc to the team. “Quiet leader” but he’s been working hard and has matured immensely in the last few years
Can have bad body language and gets too frustrated in games still tho

Kyler is good and I think he is still improving. I think he has the talent to be a fringe top 5 QB. I just don’t think he has been better than Purdy. Doesn’t mean he can’t be. A lot guys can be. But I am not going to put guys in top 10 just because they can be great.
I'll say this, at the end of a 4th quarter I'd rather be facing almost any other QB than Kyler. I remember when the Raiders played the Cardinals a couple of years ago, we were up 16 late in the 4th. Kyler converted two unbelievable 4th down TDs + the 2 pt conversions and then won in OT.
