I offered any friends and family that I’d buy their meals today if they tested it out. Had them download Alby Go and sent them over a NWC connection string to paste in. A few took me up on it and said it was super easy to use.

if the payment takes more than 5 seconds, the normies will lose interest; for a demonstration like that, i wud certainly test that the wallet is online and working first; of course, the normies will not appreciate how much fucking hard work went into enabling 5-seconds payment, painstakingly learning and testing for years; i suppose the enslaving party wud say the same about their fiat tools...

NWC is a great way to do that. Been thinking of using in place of some of my LND Hub wallets.

I bought a burger with lightning this morning. Everything worked smoothly.

Thought the video is ok...seen worse. Dunno what the burgers and chips are like. But if they open a store in New Zealand will go and try.

I hope this spreads and soon - I love buying food with sats.
Nothing like this (nation wide fast food chain adoption) available yet here in New Zealand.
