I haven't been to Las Vegas in ages. The last time I went was a detour and the time before that was a college buddy reunion/bender. I don't gamble. I don't drink. But I know LV has a bunch of cool stuff for us uncools to do too.
I'm going to be in LV for a few days before and after the conference, and as attractive as binge working in my hotel sounds, it'd be nice to do/see things I might not get a chance to do/see again for a long time.
What are your favorite things in LV? Food? Shows? Museums?
I really like Vegas. The most fun activity I have done from Vegas was a flight to Grand Canyon - Arizona, Helicopter to the Rim, and boat ride down the Colorado River. Not technically in Vegas, but there are several operations out of there that do this.

I live here in Las Vegas and I am still trying to find the cool stuff that the locals do but it’s not the most cultured of places.
I like downtown container park but that’s not that noteworthy.
There’s a mini golf place in Mandalay Bay called Swingers that I’ve been wanting to check out but haven’t had the time yet. I might go sometime during the conference if I have the time. This might be similar to Holey Moley in Austin but I have yet to go to either so I have no clue.
Area 15 is very cool with several things to do. Not sure if you’ve ever been to Meow Wolf but it’s worth going at least once in your life. There’s also the Illuminarium there that is a lot of fun. It’s like a 1 hour experience in a full 360 projection mapping room with all sorts of cool space stuff projected on every wall and the floor. Highly recommended.
The Arts District is enjoyable to walk around but it’s pretty underwhelming.
I also want to go to the Sphere but it’s hella expensive and haven’t had the time yet.
Aside from all of that, there’s just a lot of sand colored suburbs and strip malls across the entire wasteland that is Las Vegas.

I've been to Meow Wolf in Santa Fe. It was definitely a treat!
I walk by Holey Moley in Austin pretty regularly. I still haven't gone myself yet.
