OK, sports stackers... now that La Liga is done and the Champions League stuff/Stanley Cup is getting there we need new shit (#946762) to throw away out hard-earned sats on. I'm here to help, @mega_dreamer
there's chess coming up, beginning next Monday
Yes, maybe I'm the only one who'll be following this and betting on this, but whaaaatevs. There is a Chess tab on Predyx, and it's very sad...
Here are the Norway Chess 2025 regs. Six players will be playing each other twice in 120 minutes games (with Armageddon games if drawn, to reward more points):
Proposed bets:
- Winner of the tournament (6 players): Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura, Gukesh Dommaraju, Arjun Erigaisi, Fabiano Caruana, Wei Yi
- Most points, America (Hikaru+Fabiano) vs India (Erigaisi + Gukesh) — we gotta stoke the competitive nature, eh (#968945) @Coinsreporter
- The Showdown/head-to-head: Magnus Carlsen vs Gukesh (most points in their two games; or just win-loss-draw in the head-to-head in the classical segments etc). I'm not sure what makes most sense; you're the bet experts.
What's really exciting about this is that it's the first time Carlsen — hands-down the best player, probably in chess history — is facing the newly minted world champion (a title Carlsen didn't bother defending), Gukesh in classical chess, i.e. long time controls (120 minutes+increments).
Carlsen came of a 9/9 perfect score in Freestyle (different format) classical tournament in France, so he's definitely coming in hot.
My god, this will be exciting.
