For all the money that the Dodgers shelled out last offseason in the pitching department they have to be extremely disappointed. There is also an extremely concerning theme coming out of the Dodgers pitching rotation.... shoulder issues. Now that Sasaki is dealing with one he joins pitchers Tyler Glasnow, Blake Snell, Michael Kopech, Brusdar Graterol, Gavin Stone, and Michael Grove with JUST shoulder injuries. If you include TJ and other arm related injuries you can add Blake Treinen, Evan Phillips, River Ryan, Kyle Hurt, Shohei Ohtani, and Emmet Sheehan to the list.
That is an absolutely ABSURD amount of pitchers on the Major League IL for the Dodgers. Whether it is improper usage, poor training and monitoring, or maybe just super super super terrible luck it is remarkable to Dodger have a record as good as they do. Being this beaten down so early in the season is far from ideal for any team and has allowed for everyone in their division to be in play except the Rockies. Sure it is still super early in the season but with the exception of the AL West most divisions you can see levels that separate various teams. Heck the Twin have won 10 straight and they are still 5.5 games out of first place.
If I were a Dodgers fan I would be concerned.... they are having to use a lot of people from the bullpen. In fact with Sasaki's injury only Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Dustin May are in the top 10 innings pitched for the Dodgers this year. Some of their relivers have already pitched in 20 or 21 games. They have played 42.... thats just burning those arms up.
Dodgers will be just fine. They will add another starter and a reliever at the deadline.

Remember when the sports talk idiots were saying they may not even lose a game. Absurd.
