I was looking at some websites these days and I saw something that didn't make sense to me:
Steel plates sold with the 24 seed words printed on them. Like... ready.
And the craziest thing: there are people buying it.
Like this? You will entrust your self-custody to something that:
was pre-generated by someone else
has already passed through the hands of third parties
may have been registered or cloned
That totally defeats the idea of security, doesn't it?
I understand selling blank plates, kits to mark the seed, great. But already recorded? This is literally asking to be hacked or stolen.
Is it just a lack of information? Or are there people who find this more “practical” and ignore the risks?
I'm forgetting something basic maybe, when I see it I may have forgotten something because it impacted me
❓Has anyone here seen this up close?
🧠 My real question: why does this still exist?
(Or is it really a scam and no one should even announce it?)
Definitely a scam. Where did you see it?
I got an email recently, pretending to be from Gemini, saying you have to create a new wallet via an import on CryptoWallet.com (I think), then transfer all your assets from Gemini to this new wallet.
And of course, they provided the seed phrase.
Everyone's a scammer
lol
They got your phrase and the address to mail it too who’s to say they don’t plan to hit a lick
and there are many people who buy it, it impresses me
People dont realize the security they need to take.
Especially when bitcoin starts to dominate the world.
I can't believe it lol
