Hey Stacker fam,
I’ve been quietly building 0commons — a platform for creators to share digital content freely under the CC0 license, with an aim and push on value for value.
Think:
Graphic assets (AI, SVG, EPS, etc.)
Photos
Fonts
3D model files
Now also: video clips and animations
No paywalls, no licenses, no accounts needed to download. Just open access + optional peer-to-peer value with Lightning. Every upload gets a “⚡ Value the artist” button — QR/tip ready. Also hooked on with alby for those who use that.
Why?
Because I think digital culture thrives when it’s open. But creators still deserve appreciation — not just likes, but sats.
Looking for:
Early creators who want to share files they’re proud of (or no longer using).
Feedback on the UI, UX, flow, or bugs you run into
Ideas for how to keep this as lightweight and unique.
Site is live (but very much still in progress): https://0commons.com
Would love your thoughts on it!
Interesting, thank you for sharing. @Kontext maybe interested in this, as he has been working on a similar concept and an open culture manifesto for a while https://satosh.ee/osc-manifesto/
Is the code of the site open source or accessible somewhere?
reply
Yeah I noticed @Kontext doing some stuff to! Great to see! To be honest, I haven’t really thought about that yet. I had an idea and just started working on it. Under the hood it’s built on WordPress, since that’s what I’m most familiar with, but with quite a few custom features I built myself. I don’t mind making it accessible and transparent — I’ll look into a good solution for that later.

Yes indeed! Thanks for tagging me. Great thing to see, I already saw it and shared on nostr and X as well :) Kudos to @mrcrown, always liked his designs and the 0commons site is on fleek design wise also IMO
