Honestly, I don’t ask for much out of life, but I do gravitate towards free things. I fantasise about travelling for free, watching movies for free, tucking into hotel buffets for free…the list goes on. With my spare time compressed to a space as finite as a peanut, I should realistically give these books a pass and be more targetted for my reading. However, for better or for worse, opening my letterbox and seeing these free books yielded a dopamine rush that I think would greatly boost the utility I derive from reading them. For now, I pride myself on my resourcefulness to get books for free. One fine day, people will pay me good money to review books. A struggling teacher can only hope.
