I've had a very busy day news-wise today. I've been following the rising price of Bitcoin, the Fed Chairman's statements, the start of the new Pope's election, and the conflict between Pakistan and India. All of this and more influences the global economy and, consequently, our lives. In short, a lot of news today.

@grayruby what happened to the Bitcoin above $97k market? Did it resolve to NO or YES? Did you receive the payouts?
reply
It resolved yes. I did receive a payout this morning.
reply
but btc is still below 97k :/
reply
It was over 97k earlier today. The parameters were if it traded above 97k at any point today not the closing price.
reply
oh 😞
reply
Here is the description for the market resolving Saturday. It is the same as the one today.
Description This market will resolve to “Yes” if the price of Bitcoin reaches or exceeds $95,000 at any point between 00:00 AM and 23:59 PM PT on May 10, 2025.
The market will resolve to “No” if Bitcoin does not reach or exceed this price level during the specified time frame.
Resolution Source:
The primary resolution source for this market will be the Coinbase BTC/USD price. In the event of any discrepancies or outages, data from Kraken and Bitstamp may be used as secondary sources to verify the price.
Additional Notes:
• Only the price recorded within the exact time window (00:00 AM - 23:59 PM PT) on May 10, 2025 will count towards resolution.
• If Bitcoin exceeds $95,000 outside of this time frame, it will not influence the market outcome.
• This market will resolve immediately if the criteria are met, without waiting until the end of the day.

Hey @k00b I lost my gun the other day when I was having issues and detached and reattached my wallet. It never came back even though I have been sending sats ok.
Just thought I would let you know.

It's a known bug. The list of items L0 you initially loaded changed, so when you hit more you are viewing the next 21 items of L1 (which may contain some of the first 21 items of L0).

ruh roh - My UmbrelOS told me that there's a Bitcoin Core update (29.0) today. Is this the one all that OP_RETURN controversy? It didn't look like it when I read the notes, and it seems like that would be a foolish thing to push while the debate was still in full swing. Either way, I'm not updating until I get my bearings on all of this, but I'd love to hear if anybody knows more about today's update, and specifically if it includes any of the data changes that everybody is talking about.
reply
290 sats \ 3 replies \ @Murch 7 May
Bitcoin Core 29.0 was released before the debate about OP_RETURN started. The change discussed in the pull request would be released with Bitcoin Core 30.0 in October at the earliest if it gets merged.

Thanks for the heads up! Any reason I shouldn’t upgrade to 29 then?
reply
50 sats \ 1 reply \ @Murch 7 May
If the loosening of the OP_RETURN limit was your main concern, that concern does not apply Bitcoin Core 29.0. I’m not aware of any other changes that are considered controversial, but I don’t know what criteria you have, so you may want to peruse the release notes yourself: https://bitcoincore.org/en/releases/29.0/

Yeah, I looked over the notes initially and they seemed pretty vanilla, but I’m not the most technical guy.
I don’t even know where I stand on the OP_RETURN limit removal stuff yet. I just don’t want to commit to the change until I know for sure.

But we knew this already, didn’t we? Only someone born last night or a part of the corruption deny this. Taxes are theft, government and state are court confidence scams by the paid courtiers and we are the victims. It is pretty damn clear what is going on. If you didn’t see it you didn’t want to see it or gained from it.

This means to be "wealthy"... to have time to do whatever the fuck you want, not how much fiat you have in a bank account....
Being busy with all kind of stupid things and spending your precious time as you wish, it means slavery.
Time, as bitcoin is scarce... so spend it wisely. Why do you think I stopped doing any stupid job and start dedicating my time to study Bitcoin? And I still have a lot to learn LOL.
People nowadays are still wasting their time with all kind of crap but not studying Bitcoin...
