NEW OP_RETURN in transaction 3183bd6ceebc2d39c0a3cfa0d06eb84d1161eaac1c26605e2eab62bfe48c1420, confirmed at height 895,452 at 2025-05-06T02:07:02Z:
So, Bitcoin Mechanic claimed on 2025-05-02 that "Core are trying to aggressively remove a filter because they want spammers to use what it is currently successfully preventing (in service of preventing UTXO bloat). This is a 100% admission of the fact that filters work and that the last few years of claims otherwise has been gaslighting from scammers." Now, unfortunately, Bitcoin Mechanic appears to not (want to?) understand that the issue is exactly that it works, but not reliably in every block. If it were true that a minority of nodes could block transactions by not admitting them to their mempools (lol), Bitcoin would hardly be censorship resistant, would it? So, given that this extra long OP_RETURN will appear in a block shortly, I’m sure that Bitcoin Mechanic will admit that his claim is untenable and will put in a bit of effort to understand the nuance of something working, but just not working every block, because Bitcoin Mechanic is not disingenuous, right?
