I still do not understand why people when they post something online they censor themselves. Like writing ****coins instead of shitcoins.
Why in the hell are you afraid to say SHIT !? Is a fucking word in the dictionary! There's no word containing **** !

I say 💩coins because I have a personal problem with cursing always have. Way better these days but still got long ways to go. If I didn’t censor myself every other word would be a curse word. 😂 💩is not even my favorite curse word it’s the other one, and that is a venial sin.

I see nothing wrong with cursing. Cursing is an expression that give more substance to something you want to say. Some people see it as a general insult. But is kind of dumb to think that words posted online can hurt. We are all digital entities here, so words can't hurt.
Once thing is to tell to my best friend IRL "your mother is a cunt" straight in his face (even knowing his mother well, she even make me best apple pies). That will be a real problem.
And another thing is to say to some nym online that is a cunt.
You can even say "cunt" IRL in a funny way...
I really think that this auto-censoring is coming from other sources that we were trained to behave like that because of X or Y stupid rule.

Haven’t seen too much of word censorship on sn other than the 💩coin usage but I’m not on Twitter and Nostr much these days so idk.

This is so relatable. I did this so my comment won't be removed, I won't be banned, and people won't downvote it thinking I'm too toxic. All of this was when I was on platforms like X and Reddit. But I don't use that language mostly because I like to treat people the way I want to be treated. If someone annoys me, I block them, and that's it. I'm much happier doing this as well

Censoring yourself just because you can be censored by others is dumb and you put yourself in an inferior position. It means you do not want to be responsible for you own actions, defend them or support them or be punished if they are wrong. That's more cowardice than bravery.
Just because you talk "nice & clean" it doesn't mean you will get the respect from others. But the opposite, something is fishy with you, speaking too nice. Speak truth (even if is "dirty") and you will get the result you want.

I get what you're saying, thanks. I also feel disgusted about it. I remember I wanted to strongly present my opinion on a post once, and lol, within minutes, the auto mod kept removing it. On Reddit some people are really softy and report you and then you get banned for a week. If it happens again, it's a perma ban. So, I just try to rant with puns and memes, but since last year, it's gotten out of hand, and I got a ban. Though my ban was lifted by an appeal, I didn't go back and deleted my account forever. I also once tried to go to imageboards, but man, everywhere it's gore and rekt fetish. One can say their minds worst shit there, but not everyone is like them.
That's more cowardice than bravery.
True, but it's a forced cowardice. These platforms have become very dictatorial you show bravery and get banned, so everyone thinks twice before posting. The internet places have become shit after 2020
