I've noticed this in grocery stores - ever since I've gone carnivore, and thus become more aware of Keto advertising, I thought to myself that there's probably some kind of fraud involved in all the packaged food (for things like cookies, tortillas, bread) that claim to be "keto".
For instance, these "keto" fudge brownies
You look at the label, and there's all kind of junk like guar gum, these weird "sugar alcohols", almond flour, etc. Almond flour is particularly bad because almonds are full of one of the worst plant defense toxins - oxalates.
And then there's the fraud of the whole "net carb" theory - which is that you subtract fiber from the total carbs, and get the "net carbs", because fiber somehow supposedly makes those carbs disappear.
My number 1 tip here is - completely avoid packaged foods. Be suspect of anything that has more than one ingredient.

Most of the commonly used sugar alcohols make me mildly ill.

my stores carry "Keto" bacon.
Whatz?!, what in the name do you/would you put in bacon to make them non-Keto?!

Ha ha.
Lots of bacon in the US has sugar in it.

I know, I know.
But sugar, for the vast majority of people who aren't trying to actively avoid it, makes EVERYTHING taste better. Even the sauce on a McDonalds Big Mac has sugar in it - a pretty substantial amount, too.
